I'm very interested in the low-power SOHO computer field. I think they
could fill a lot of niches.
I have an HP OfficeJet (a d145, couple of version/model years old) with
the extra HP JetDirect I/O card to connect it directly to the ethernet.
Using this, SANE and the -great- HPLIP [1] project files, I can scan
directly from Linux. Not terribly cheap, but it's a decent
scanner/fax/color printer/duplexer/photo card reader. The JetDirect was
$100 extra, iirc.
