  Wow.  Neat.  I've never heard of anything like that.

  Is ntpd running?  If so, kill it, and see if that fixes it.

  Have you tried a reboot?

  Try a super-cold-start, too:

1. Shut down
2. Power off
3. Unplug power cord
4. Press power button (yes, while unplugged, to clear capacitors)
5. Wait 10 seconds
6. Plug back in, power back on

  Are you running a custom kernel?

  Clear CMOS/NVRAM, maybe?
