Laptop Key Problem

This isn't exactly a Linux-specific question, but hopefully someone here can help...

On Saturday, I grabbed an old laptop that I thought I'd take down to the Boston Linux InstallFest, so that I could get Ubuntu and the wireless card working on it. This is a decent HP laptop that stopped being actively used a couple of years ago, because XP SP2 kept giving hard drive errors (even after HP replaced the disk!)

Anyway... Right before I headed down, I put the Ubuntu install kit in and started the install so all I'd need help with was to get the wireless card working. Once the install got far enough to make the keyboard active, I started getting an increasing number of pop-up windows, asking where I wanted to store the screen save that my print screen button apparently requested. I figured something must be wrong with the print screen key (it had never had this problem before, even though the last thing I had on this machine was SuSE.) I booted again, just from the CD, and as soon as I logged on, I had the same problem.

I actually tried to remove the Print Screen key, but that didn't help. So, I finally gave up on the install.

Any ideas or suggestions to de-activate this key?
