I have a Blackberry 8820 (8830?) on Sprint for work. My wife has the 1st
gen iPhone.

We both have gmail for personal email. Up until this week, I'd say the
google app on the BB is comparable, but it's been making me reenter my
passwd incessently.

The iPhone browser is way better then the BB or Opera on the BB. I think
it's faster too. Of course the iPhone can go on WiFi. My wife often uses
the iPhone instead of the computer.

My BB syncs with Exchange very well at work. I don't like the BB calendar
as well as my Palm FWIW.

Google Maps is on both. My BB has a GPS and Google can use it. The iPhone
has a cell tower triagulator. I think the iPhone does Maps better. If you
need directions, they work, but I prefer a real GPS.

My wife doesn't do the sync thing at work (Exchange) or at home (Windows) so
I don't have an opinion on that.

In general, I find the iPhone more pleasent to use. I think the BB might be
better at syncing up. I've got the Google addons for the BB and they work
well enough. I haven't updated the iPhone for the apps yet.

If work didn't make me carry thier phone, I'd have an iPhone. How many
phones out there have WiFi and a decent browser? I play with the iPhone all
the time, even though I have my BB with me.

Coverage varies. Sometimes the BB gets signal when the iPhone doesn't
(White Mountains area of NH). Sometimes otherwise. We're in the Lowell, MA
area FWIW.
