They said the signal travels farther and faster, not the radio
waves. They merely use radio waves to propagate the signal.
And it's true, with 802.11n, the signal (information theory meaning)
does go farther and travels faster. This is obvious from the
improved data rate which is measured vs. time - if your signal is
comprised of a given number of bits, with 802.11n that signal will
arrive sooner than with 802.11g, which means its travel time from the
sender to the recipient is decreased, hence faster.
