I remember similar frustration when Metacity was first released; the
developer removed an important feature, apparently because Windows
didn't have the feature and therefore Linux didn't need it. He made
some silly statements that I paraphrased as follows:

    "I'll tell you the same thing I told the other 100,000 people
    who complained: Nobody wants that feature!"
