  <alpine-usa.com.> is defined.  There is simply no A record
associated with it.  This is an important distinction.  For example,
there are MX records associated with <alpine-usa.com.>, so mail could
be working just fine.

  I realize I'm being pedantic, but we all know that subtle
distinctions like this can make a big difference when you're dealing
with these pesky computers.  :-)
