  Heh.  That, at least, is not a new problem.  A bit of trivia I know:
You know clapperboards?  The "slates" used in movie/TV production,
which feature a hinged arm that is banged at the start of the take?
They were adopted to provide an easy A/V syncronization event "in the
take".  The arm makes a sharp noise for the mic at the same momemnt
the camera sees it hit, ideal for that sort of thing.
