  It's prolly worth pointing out that, per MOD's description, there is
no router involved, only a switch.  Of course, it could still be the
switch.  :)

  Here's a thought: MOD posted output from "iptables -L".  Also check
"iptables -t nat -L" and "iptables -t mangle -L".

  Also check the routing tables.  Make sure neither host has more than
one route to any given destination.  That can cause really weird
issues if one of the routes works and the other does not (hi Paul!).

  Here's another thought: Are any of the clients multi-homed (multiple
network interfaces)?  Do any of them have multiple IP addresses
(aliases)?

  Check even if you "know" they don't.  :)
