  Indeed.

MV was one of the best companies I've ever done business with. The
customer support GNHLUG gets (got) from MV *for free* was as good as
anything I've ever been able to pay for elsewhere. I've never gotten
anything better, even when paying through the nose. (In fairness to
some other ISPs, I've had service just as good, but never better, and
never cheaper.)

They were also one of the oldest ISPs in the country, let alone the state.

Mark Mallet is also one of the nicest operators I've ever had the
pleasure to interact with.

I remember Mark explaining how they registered "mv.com" with the
idea that people in the Merrimack Valley area would want to hang
subdomains off it, because of course people wouldn't want to be
registering that many names at the second level, right? That's why
their own business operations came from "mv.mv.com".

This is a sad day. Top-notch operations like MV dieing out, while
customer-hostile megacorps like Verizon and Comcast continue to rake
it in.
