When: May 18, 2011 7PM (6:30PM for Q&A)
Topics: Linux Usability, featuring Fotoxx photo editor
Moderators: Dick and Jill Miller
Location: MIT Building E51, Room 395

Dick and Jill talk about application usability, using Fotoxx as an
example. Fotoxx is an open-source photo editing and collection
management application.

Dick and Jill Miller have owned Miller Microcomputer Services since
1977. MMS produced MMSFORTH, a total software environment which offered
an unusually wide array of application modules for home, science and
business including FORTHCOM, FORTHWRITE - and DATAHANDLER-PLUS, which
MMS programmers adapted for MS-DOS as Ashton-Tate's RapidFile. Dick and
Jill now support consulting clients using Ubuntu Linux, and select
hardware and software from the wide world of free, open-source software
(FOSS). They give back to the FOSS community in various ways, including
their latest venture, the FOSS User Group at the Natick Senior Center.
They also help to polish Fotoxx, a powerful yet surprisingly friendly
photo editing and management application for Linux which they will
demonstrate for us tonight.
