Just to fire a shot in the dark:

OTOH as relates to one of your gazillion bullet items:

You list this as a non-requirement. However it seems to me that
central-site-per-collection-type satisfies social stuff better than
private collection implementations. Not that that needs to be the
way it is, in fact it would be great if networked communications were
part of private collections managers, but that does not seem to be the
way it is at the moment. So goodreads is good for books, letterboxd for
movies, stuff like that. (I'm on both of those.)

I also tried the free version of readerware[.com] at some point but for
some unremembered reason gave up on it, but a lot of time has passed so
it may be worth looking at.
