OSS Video Conference solution?

Ah, yes.  Project Diastar.  I *was* all excited about that just a day or two
ago... now I'm more confused than anything.  As far as I can tell, it's an OSS
platform on which proprietary things can be added -- at cost.  (Of course, the
"cost" is never mentioned, which I find incredibly irksome.)  As per this link
-- which took Googling to find; it was not apparent from their site -- I think
video conferencing is a value add:

So, yeah, before I went down the whole "what does it do, and what does it not
do" route, I decided to pursue guaranteed-free/OSS options.

 As long as you have the pipe and box with some horsepower, you should be able
to have N-party
 conferencing. I'm presuming your not expecting HD-quality video, though good
720p should be
 achievable.
