I also opted for a Transformer... I tend to use it docked to the keboard as
a netbook but undock it and use it as a tablet if I am just watching media
or reading something in bed or on the couch.
Unlike the iPad, the transformer has a microSD and microHDMI out on the
tablet. Dock adds two full-size USB slots and a full size SD slost. I have
used the full SD slot to transfer files, and the microSD for additional
storage, but none of the others.
I have come to rely on this so much that I do not want to risk rooting the
system to install it myself. I have not fired up my personal laptop much
since I got the Transformer.
The only knock I have is the speaker quit about a month or so ago.
Headphones/earbuds work fine, but I picked up a wireless/bluetooth headset
that lets me swap between my PC and my Transformer easily.
Other than the audio issue, it has stood up to near constant use very well.
Overall quality of the unit is good.
