X / CUDA on CentOS, multi-gpu servers

I have XWin32 running and successfully running the remote application on my laptop. I've used XWin32 for years. It was relatively painless to set up and use. Is there a 64 bit version? Not specifically, but they do have FastX. Anyone have experience with FastX? Claims to have faster response time than vnc and nx (x11) connections.

I was trying to see if xming would work, since I did not have licenses for XWin32. Xming does work for gedit and firefox... Just not the big simulation program.

In the future, we may go to something like grid vdi. First, we have to prove (on a local level) that the tools/cluster is up to the problem set. Then we can expand the user base, etc. Got to take the baby steps first.

My vnc experience is that it is slow here in our office environment. I only use it as a last resort. Is there any tweaks/setup that makes it more tolerable?

If you're willing to pay for software, the Xwin32 package from Starnet is a good option. In the past their cost has been low. Hummingbird now Context is another option but was usually pricier. (disclaimer - haven't used in a while

I work (manage a bit) a very large computing env for building graphics chips. Our normal X work is done primarily in VNC sessions. Some NX but that package can be a pain to use/setup/manage. We also use cygwin fairly heavily but not for it's X capabilities. Lots of xterms and some GUI apps and most graphical use is 2D eda tools...

I'm hoping to be able to try out the Grid VDI capability of the N* graphic devices in the near future.
