Help Desk Administrator

Hours worked 6:30am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday; available via cell
phone/Nextel Direct for 24/7 on-call support

Job Description
Summary

The primary role of this position is to maintain and support all hardware
and software related issues as they pertain to the three Boston locations,
as well as all offsite (remote) locations.  This position is responsible for
repairs, replacements, and upgrades when applicable. Maintain a working
relationship with all service related vendors.  This person will also be
assisting users with software application issues, configuration issues, as
well as any training that may be needed.

Responsibilities

Hardware: Maintain all existing systems

Workstations: Inventory all user workstations.  Formulate a standard desktop
configuration.  Recommend upgrades when needed.

Laptops: Maintain inventory of all laptops as well as support offsite users.

Printers: Maintain printers as well as spares and parts in stock.



Software: Maintain all existing software as well as licensing when
applicable

Test and evaluate all new software being considered by Stavis Seafood's for
any possible conflicts.  Make recommendations for upgrades, patches, fixes,
etc.

Create all new Network and Email accounts.

Maintain all Email distribution lists.

Maintain a problem call resolution tracking system (Track-IT), and develop
long-term strategies based on trend analysis.

Minimum ten-percent of job function is the creation and updating of
documentation on policies, procedures, phone contacts, vendor maintenance
agreements, disaster recovery procedures, and Seasoft how-to manual for new
employees.
Qualifications

	Education: A.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent; B.S. preferred
	Technical: Minimum 8 years experience with Microsoft Office, current
operating system software.
		Minimum 5 years experience with Hewlett-Packard laser jet
printers, print servers, and generic dot-matrix printers.
		Minimum 3 years experience in technical writing,
documentation procedures, and Change Control Procedures.
	Preferred Skills: VoIP telephony experience, VPN, Microsoft Remote
