 BladeLogic is seeking a DB Architect, located in Lexington

 Title: DB Architect

 Responsibilities

 The DB Architect will report to the VP of Engineering and will work
 with the Chief Architect, development leads and the DB team to define
 the data model and DB architecture for the BladeLogic product suite.
 Work with the Chief Architect to define the overall data architecture
 for the product.

 This person will work with Product Management to understand customer
 needs and ensure that functionality meets these needs.  We expect this
 individual to demonstrate technical leadership and build the confidence
 of the database & development teams.  Hands-on experience developing,
 releasing and implementing a large enterprise product is a must.
 Must have direct experience with developing large scale database
 systems, both OLTP and data warehousing.  Experience with server/storage
 management products is a plus.

 Required Skills

 * We are seeking someone with a minimum of 10+ years of proven software
 development.

 * Strong data modeling skills.

 * Strong understanding of RDBMS theory.

 * Deep hands-on experience with Oracle 9i and 10g, SQLSERVER
 physical data modeling, performance analysis, application design and
 implementation.  Experience with other RDBMS is a plus e.g.  Postgres.

 * Deep hands-on experience with database ETL design and implementation.
 Familiar with Oracle and SQLSERVER utilities such as : SQLLOADER,
 DATAPUMP, EXPORT/IMPORT, BCP.

 * Strong skills with data warehouse and data mart design and development.

 * Working closely with expert Java, C, C++ software engineers.

 * Conducting data modeling and design reviews to insure best practice
 of software design and implementation.

 * Deep hands-on experience with JDBC programming.  Design and
 implementation of ETL processes involves various source DBMS and
 target DBMS.

 * Application development experience in large-scale OO, client-server,
 OLTP and OLAP applications.

 * Familiar with software engineering and deployment life cycle and
 methodologies.

 * Broad technical knowledge, leadership and organization skills,
 creativity and technical vision.

 * Strong oral and written communications skills.
