From: Scott Lawton <scott at productarchitect.com>
Python developer for data-centric Web site running Django
Blogcosm is looking for a full-time Web developer with solid Python
experience. Django is a plus but it's ok to learn that on the job.
You'll report directly to me: founder, CEO, parallel entrepreneur,
and MIT grad. Work hard and have fun, with no bureaucracy. This
role involves two primary tasks:
1. write code
2. mentor several interns who will be learning Python, Django and
Google App Engine
Local preferred: Chelmsford is 25 miles NW of Boston, 12 miles S of
Nashua. Will consider telecommute (including international),
especially if you have demonstrated experience working on your own.
Compensation: market rate.
Web development experience would be great, but mostly we're looking
for attitude and aptitude. (If you don't know Python, see our other
job listing.) If you're interested in applying, please read the "to
apply" section below. Email attachments will be discarded.

- UNIX sysadmin: cron, rsync, ssh, svn
Required:
- Python (Django a plus)
- write clean, well-documented, maintainable code
- able to deal graciously with feedback, both internal and external
- high standards, attention to detail
- enthusiastic, focused
Helpful:
- experience generating clean HTML + CSS; follow Web standards
- good at math, Computer Science degree a plus
- parsing HTML and XML
- JavaScript / AJAX
- Apache or lighttpd
- PostgreSQL or MySQL
- SVN or other version control, trac
- Linux or FreeBSD
- MacOS X
- R, matplotlib
To apply, please say why you think this job is a good fit, including
specific examples from your background. Some thoughts on your top
few development methodologies, principles and/or practices (and why)
would be helpful, though it's ok to save this until round 2. NO
