[gnhlug-jobs] Part-Time Linux Sysadmin Needed

I'm looking for a part-time Linux sysadmin to provide occasional work and
monitoring for my Linux servers. The position involves two different types
of tasks:

1. I need someone "on-call" in case a server goes down. My guess is that
this means that you would need to wear a beeper, but perhaps I'm out of date
on this particular requirement. The basic issue is that if the server stops
responding to web requests, I need someone to login and get it running
again.
2. I need someone to undertake some fairly standard Linux admin tasks (ie
configuring backups, configuring log rotations, upgrading the server when
security patches are issued, etc.). There may also be some non-standard
tasks. For example, I'm very interested in Amazon Web Services as a
platform, and I'd be interested in moving some of my sites onto it down the
road.

Although the (vast) majority of work could be done remotely, there would be
the occasional need for onsite meetings in Durham, NH.

About the company:

I run a small company that operates a variety of (mostly
home-improvement-related) websites. I run a handful of remote VPS Linux
servers, which run such applications as:

   - A fairly standard LAMP stack (the "P" is Perl / mod_perl)
   - Qmail
   - Subversion and CVS

This would be a 1099 independent contractor position.

If you're interested, please send your resume to Chris Brooks,
