What : Wiki
Who : Ben Scott
Where: Room 301, Morse Hall, UNH, Durham, NH
Day : Mon 8 May 2006
Time : 7:00 PM - 9ish

For the May meeting of SLUG (NH Seacoast Linux User Group), Ben Scott
will be talking about Wiki. He will cover a bit of history, basic
usage, talk about a few different popular Wiki software packages, and
show how one can use Wiki to edit both the GNHLUG (TWiki) and
Wikipedia (MediaWiki) web sites.

What is Wiki? Wiki is best described as "Quick, easy, and open
collaboration using the web". It lets anyone edit web pages using
plain text with minimal markup. You can generally just type in text
the way you want it to look, and the Wiki software makes it happen.
Wiki is the technology behind Wikipedia, one of the busiest web sites
in the world.

Ben Scott is a local Linux enthusiast, activist, and LUG pundit. He
has somehow become one of the maintainers of GNHLUG's web site and
Wiki, although he isn't quite sure how that happened. His day job is
IT Manager and general-purpose geek for a small manufacturing company,
where he likes his Linux servers because they require the least
attention.
