Because the current 'stable' release of GNU Mailman cannot handle virtual
hosting. Combine that with the fact that the system <mail.gnhlug.org> is,
in fact, <rogue.codemeta.com>. This means that having a list name <discuss>
would be global to everything on that system. So, the actual list name must
be <gnhlug-discuss>, to distinguish it from any other hypothetical "discuss"
list that might be hosted on rogue.
As far as why <mail.gnhlug.org> instead of <gnhlug.org>, I believe that is
because the mail archives Mailman provides need a web address, and
<gnhlug.org> goes to the "main" website.

I would *strongly* recommend using <discuss at gnhlug.org> and
<announce at gnhlug.org>. In the future, if "we" (GNHLUG) get our own server,
and/or Mailman improves, we will likely change to those list names.
