gnome startup errors

well, i was having similar problems when i forcefully upgraded gtk2-2.0
to gtk2-2.2 to install a new version of gaim. however, the next time
around i let ximian do it and it worked fine. i bet it has something to
do with your gtk or gtk2 package conflicting with another package in the
system.
