Did you roll your own code to handle the su-ing to a given user, or
did you get some code from somewhere?  IIRC, I had to manually track
down and install the SYSV init scripts start spamd.  I don't see
anything in the spamd man page that causes it to perform this su
either.

So, in short, can you tell me what arguments you're invoking spamd
with?  Are you running multiple spamd processes?


I have to confess, my queries here are somewhat academic, since just
running "spamassassin" works very well for me.

I run my own mailserver, so I have a bit of flexibility here.
