Network issues in Mandrake.

I just signed up for Verizon DSL and they sent me a Westell (sp?) 2200
DSL modem. This modem with do PPPoE internally and allow you to
connect a PC to the modem with a DHCP address.

You should be able to use the Mandrake tools to configure your network
card for DHCP. Failing that, you can muck around in
/etc/sysconfig/networking-scripts/ifcfg-.....

btw - I'd recommend setting up the Dlink router & its firewall between
your modem & computer. Unless you're going to use your computer as a
firewall of course :-)

Yes, it took nearly 40 hours of runtime to get it installed but I had no problems I couldn't figure out until I went to try to connect to the internet. I'm running Verizon DSL in Saco ME. (I've read what you thing of Verizon but I hate them less then I hate TimeWarner.) I tried to RTFM but v10 ships with v9 help on networking. I don't seem to be getting an IP address. I've tried several times using the tools in KDE. I'm of half a mind (I heard that ;-)) to try using a command line tool. I can't find much on the web to help.
