At my household, we do all have cell phones and use them for near 100% of the
calls. 3 cell phones costing us $125 a month on a combined plan using 2000
free anytime minutes and unlimited calling to others on the same service
(Sprint).
There are very rare but important occasions that we *do* need the land-line
for collect calls, and so for that reason we still keep it around. So far,
land lines are the only ones that will accept collect calls. Vonage claims
to be working on accepting collect calls, and when they solve the problem
I'll go with them and drop the land line altogether.
What I'd be interested in is a lower-cost cell phone plan that will allow us
to have 4 cell phones for under $100 a month with unlimited calling to
anywhere in the US. If anyone knows of anything that comes close to this,
I'm all ears!
