on this season.

(Just decided to use Kontact, not bad so far. Getting tired of Evolution,
and
Kontact seems to do everything it does anyway...)

What I've noticed is that when a channel like Discovery, Sci Fi, or Science
first comes on line, the programming is not too bad. Then, it's a gradual
descent into mediocrity. With the Science Channel, it only took them a few
months. With the Sci Fi Channel, it took them a couple of years before
getting REAL bad.

Even the History Channel used to be better than what it is today. It used to

be that they had interesting stuff nearly every time I tuned in. Now, it's
all blah with the occasional exception.

Is there some sort of "dumbbing down field" that kicks into effect once a
new
channel goes on line? Or is it that they subcome to the usual "market to the

masses for ad dollars" forces?
