I haven't installed Impress templates because the styles are too
prissy for my business environment. The general slide formats work
fine. My wife paints nice stuff, so one of her pictures goes as
background for the cover slide and section breaks. If it is summertime
and I am in the hot South or South West, some cool NH hiking pictures
from the White Mountains work.

Here are my notes. One way or the other, they worked with 1.01,
1.1, and 1.13 versions. Maybe you have to add your own directories as
I did. It also may matter if you installed stand-alone or multi-user.
OO keeps some templates in /opt/Open.../user/templates also. The
conflict may be there.

These are my notes to myself. (These days I talk to myself too -
with or without others present.)

The Intrel templates are stored in aaajak/isc/std/oo.  In the past,
they had to be imported via OO, not copied.  Assume things are the
same.

Open File->Templates->Organize.  Select Default in the left box,
then Commands->New to get a new category; create ISC, JAK, and
TESCO.  Select ISC, then Command->Import Template.  Maneuver the file
box to /std/oo and copy the first isc_* template.  Repeat for  all the
ISC templates.  Repeat for JAK.  Repeat for TESCO.

The Star Office templates might come by copying.  Try it.  Yes, just
copy all the template directories
into /home/jak/OpenOffice.org/user/template.  (The templates are not
very useful.)
