Domain Registrar Woes

Unfortunately the domain was deleted from the root servers on Friday.

I reported the problem to AIT on Saturday.  The registrar, AIT Domains
insists that they are doing everything possible to get us back on-line.
pir.org (Public Internet Registry) has been sympathetic, but insists we
need to work through the registrar.  I've filed a grumble with the
Internic and am hounding AIT, but this is taking a ridiculously long
time to get resolved.

Is there anything else to be done?

Since the domain is on HOLD, I can not transfer it to a different
registrar.
