problem buring iso to external usb dvd

  These are more of a "shot in the dark" than anything else, but:

  What happens if you leave out the "-speed=1" and "-dvd-compat"
options?  I seem to recall not using those when I used that tool.  In
other words:

growisofs -Z /dev/dvd=F-7-i386-DVD.iso

  If this is the DVD+RW disc, have you tried reformatting the media?

dvd+rw-format -force /dev/dvd
